Noah's bug story

Life has gotten almost dull with our little micro preemie. He is 3 years old, wow!

Noah has a pillow pet that is his "sleep pillow". This particular pillow pet is a red and black lady bug also known simply as "Bug". Last night Noah woke up at about 1:30 crying and I had to go comfort him. It seems there was a giant lady bug on his arm and he was scared. I ended up on his floor until 3:45 am, it was not the best nights sleep I have had.

This morning Noah announced that the giant bug was in the middle of the road going bye bye.

Did I mention that our house has a larger than normal number of lady bugs crawling around?

Noah at 3

Our little blessing has grown so big. Everything is new to him this year. He asks "Momma hold my new hand?" and says "My new pants are cween (clean)."

He will tell you that "Finny's not talking" (the dog).

He is a sweetheart.

From littlest to so big in 3 years

How time does fly and children do grow. I cannot believe it has been nearly 3 years since I started this adventure. Through the fear and unknown to the "how will I ever get my work done with Mr. busy body around", the days have simply slipped by.

Noah is almost 3 and he will tell you just that if you ask him.

He is quick on his feet and in his head. His motor and mental skills are just as sharp, if not sharper, than your normal 3 year old. When he turned 2 I remember contemplating whether or not he had caught up to the "curve" our society grades babies on. Now I contemplate how far past it he seems to have gone and how much smarter he is than some of my friends children of the same age group. I understand that all mommies think their child is the brightest and the cutest child they have ever seen; perhaps it is true.

My goal for this post, for anyone who is going through what we have, is to fill a mind and heart that is probably full of fear and uncertainty with hope. Every preemie or extreme preemie must face his or her own challenges but Noah's story of success and joy is only one among thousands of stories that are miraculous. Noah was 1lb. 13 oz. and was born at 24 weeks. He is now an engaging "almost" 3 year old with no known residual health or growth concerns. Have faith... Have hope... Give them love.
